Dunedin was the venue for the latest New Zealand Rugby Players Association Rugby Club event on Saturday where a group of former players gathered to rekindle friendships and make new connections.

The group enjoyed dinner at the Lone Star before heading off to Forsyth Barr Stadium to watch an epic display of New Zealand Rugby between the Highlanders and the Chiefs in the last round robin of Super Rugby.

Nick Moore “Ït was good to catch up with some of the lads I have not seen for a while and having players from different era’s was good to see.  I think the NZRPA Rugby Club is a good initiative and it would be good to see players get it behind it to support it.“

Tim Weston from the NZRPA said “The Rugby Club events have been really well received by the former players.  They see great value in attending these events so they can network with people who are sharing similar experiences to them.  We know that transitioning out of rugby can be challenging so these events are just some of the programmes we are putting in place to help players stay connected.”

The NZRPA are working to establish a thriving network of retired New Zealand Professional Rugby Players across the country to provide camaraderie, networking, support and advice.

If you are a former professional player and wish to utilise the NZRPA services or be added to the NZRPA Rugby Club database please email Tim.Weston@nzrpa.co.nz.
