A group of New Zealand Rugby Players’ Association members have joined forces to support a new initiative for kids by taking part in the production of a monthly rugby magazine exclusively for the younger audience.
The magazine produced by New Zealand Rugby World features a variety of well-known players providing 5-12 year olds with practical tips and fun activities.
Former World Cup winning All Black Richard Kahui is the editor of the magazine with regular features including Jerome Kaino showing how to do a training activities and All Blacks captain Kieran Read answers questions from kids.
Dynamic players Damian McKenzie and Tyla Nathan-Wong share some ball skills and Ben Smith asks for help with some rugby maths questions, while Aaron Cruden shows what cooking in his kitchen.
Charlie Faumuina covers off food science with Sam Cane showing tackling techniques. Black Ferns Seven’s silver medallist Sarah Goss reviews new kids’ books and Black Fern and policewoman Selica Winiata helps people keep safe off the field with some practical tips.
Nehe Milner-Skudder issues a challenge for kids to try and make him laugh by sending in their best jokes and they are featured on a special page. Other players make guest appearances with Kayla McAlister introducing us to her dogs Mia and Ziggy and showing off her Olympic silver medal. Dr Nic Gill who works with the All Blacks helps the readers understand how the body works in the jam packed magazine loaded with useful, practical information, fun games, puzzles and a comic strip.
