The doors are officially open to The Rugby Club - the virtual home for New Zealand’s professional players, past and present, here in Aotearoa and around the world.
The Rugby Club brings together all the best parts of playing the game, without the contact. It’s about what’s always mattered most: the friendships, the opportunities, and the drive to keep growing. Whether you wore the jersey once or a hundred times, all New Zealand Rugby Players Association (NZRPA) members are welcome at The Rugby Club – no obligations or expectations.
Just like the local clubrooms around the country, players can come and go as they please.
Nikita Hall, NZRPA General Manager – People Development, said when you are playing, the team environment is the place that provides that daily connection to other players, and you’re surrounded by like-minded, competitive people who love what they do.
“We created The Rugby Club, so our members had a way to connect into all the great things the game offers and harnesses the power of community. We’ve brought together a team of experts, who many players will recognise from their time in the game, to share their insights and offer practical advice that’ll benefit players no matter where they’re at in their journey.
“The response from the retired players has been incredible, with many putting their hands up to be mentors for current players and sharing their experiences of how they navigated the transition out of their professional playing careers. The icing on the cake is the network directory, which enables players to not only find a mentor or reconnect with their old teammates, but to also forge new connections in business and life. All of this is available at The Rugby Club.”
What can you find at The Rugby Club?
There’s a range of services and resources on offer for life beyond the field, designed especially for New Zealand’s professional rugby players. Connect with our career specialists 1-on-1 to explore opportunities, create CV’s and LinkedIn profiles, and help prepare for interviews. Members have access to fully funded, confidential sessions with counsellors or psychologists. Additionally, a new assessment service is available, offering expert guidance for players interested in evaluating their brain health.
There is a bit of everything on offer at The Rugby Club. It’s where you’ll reconnect with old teammates and forge new business connections, get invites to exclusive events just for Rugby Club members, and discover job opportunities.
Whether players have stayed involved in the game or not, hung up their boots two or twenty years ago or are currently playing, The Rugby Club door is always open.
