Andrea Thomas

PDM - Auckland Rugby & Black Ferns

Andrea Thomas brings a people-first, strengths-based approach to her role as a Personal Development Manager, shaped by more than 20 years’ experience across education, leadership, and pastoral care. Before joining professional rugby, Andrea held senior leadership roles at Manurewa High School, including Head of Department, Whānau Dean, and Acting Deputy Principal, with a strong focus on wellbeing, leadership development, and supporting people through key transitions - experience that continues to underpin her PDM practice. She later worked within a high-performance rugby environment in community engagement and events, strengthening her understanding of the influence athletes have as leaders and role models.

Now in her eighth year as a PDM, Andrea continues to invest in her own development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, Higher Diploma of Teaching, Diploma of Drama and Dance in Education, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Professional Supervision. Based in Auckland, she lives with her partner, is a proud aunty, boat owner, self-described average fisherwoman, and values a good belly laugh alongside quality time with friends and family.
