Ben Sigmund brings invaluable lived experience to his role as a Personal Development Manager. A former professional footballer, Ben spent nine seasons with the Wellington Phoenix and represented New Zealand internationally with the All Whites. Having navigated the demands of elite sport firsthand, he has a deep understanding of the pressures, opportunities, and transitions professional athletes face. That experience now underpins his work empowering rugby players to build strong identities, develop life skills, and create sustainable success beyond the field.
Committed to continuous growth, Ben has completed Sports Life Coaching and Transition to Next certifications under world-renowned practitioner Carlette Patterson, reflecting his belief that development never stops. Following his playing career, he also built and ran a successful sports apparel business, applying his athlete mindset to a new domain and demonstrating how high-performance habits transfer powerfully into business. Ben is married to his wife Deanna and is a proud father to Cameron and Ashley, with the family remaining enthusiastic supporters of the Wellington Phoenix.
