Kate Duncan brings extensive social work experience and a strengths-based approach to her role as Personal Development Manager for Taranaki Rugby. Passionate about helping people clarify their goals, build confidence and grow the skills they need to thrive, Kate walks alongside players from diverse backgrounds, empowering them with her trademark optimism and solutions-focused practice.
Kate has worked across hospital and community settings, supporting people through complex situations, high-pressure environments and significant life transitions. A Registered Social Worker, she holds a Master’s in Social and Community Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Otago.
Kate has an innate understanding of the dedication, challenges and personal growth players experience through high performance sport, informed by her own representative sporting career with Canterbury and Taranaki. Outside of work, you’ll find Kate embracing the best of Taranaki, from the ski fields and mountain bike trails to time on the hockey turf.
