The Hub (LMS) Project Manager

TJ Va’a is a former professional rugby player who represented the Wellington Lions, Hurricanes, and NZU20s before retiring at 21 due to injuries. Following his playing career, he moved into management consulting, working across public sector transformation, health initiatives, and Māori and Pasifika-focused projects with a core focus on strategy development, operating model design, and change management.

TJ now leads the development and delivery of RPA’s learning management system, The Hub, supporting current, retired, and overseas-based members to access personal development and off-field education, while also contributing to global player development projects such as the Global Rugby Players Foundation’s Beyond the Game platform and the International Rugby Players and World Rugby Women’s Rugby Players Hub.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Management and International Business from Victoria University of Wellington and brings a blend of elite rugby experience, consulting skills, and digital education leadership to his work.
